Different Tips In Video Making With Green Screen Kit

By Walter Brooks

You may have a great imagination and want to make a movie or just a short video clip to share these thoughts with other people. Or you like to share information with other people that might not be well known by the majority. This is done by only having a good camera and your creativity to find the perfect places as the background.

But hindrances are sometimes there like being unable to go in specific places to shoot because of restriction in their access or distance. Use instead the green screen kit available in man places that will let you change your background to make others think you are in a different place in the video. The various tools included help in achieving this.

Their brightness value or that single color will be isolated then with the process of keying used at electronic or digital images. Software would be used then in changing their value into a transparent one allowing another image be inserted to the affected areas where it is shown instead. This gives the illusion of being in another place.

The most common color used for this purpose is green, followed by blue, though others could be keyed out also like purple, yellow, red and pink. The reason for choosing this hue though is its contrast or difference with others which is distinct and making it easy to isolate. This hue is not commonly worn by talents too.

If talents are wearing something similarly colored with the background, in most cases green, then those areas will be keyed out and become invisible parts. Using this to your advantage is possible though if you want something to be not seen or let something float. So always be careful in what they wear during the shoot.

Setup for this is easy and doable anywhere if you just have the right tools that is basically needed for this process. These tools include tripod for locking your camcorder, even and bright lighting source and green background. Backgrounds could just be made or bought as long as it is large enough for filling the screen.

Properly lighting your wall or background is an important technique for having good keys which is doable with soft and even light. Gradient coloring will be the reading for variations in lights and could complicate in post processing the keys. Soft boxes help in spreading evenly the light but if you have no soft boxes then move instead your sources farther.

Avoid having shadows on the background fall so light the subject separately with the use of three point lighting. Position them few feet away from the camera also to achieve this or place the lights at the sides to so the shadows are not seen in the camera frame. Its color also reflects on your talent when they stand too close to the wall so avoid this.

Any camera motion is not advisable. This is unless you use motion trackers and are knowledgeable with syncing together these images. Locking it down permanently for the shoot is better to avoid shaking and movement.
